I just installed new seals and chrome trim on my oval and it definitely did not look like this. Ill see if I can post some pics for ya. it looks like the windshield may need to be re seated in the channel properly?

I had the same problem back in 2000 with some WW rubbers.

Mine did the same thing using the German WW gasket...

What I think is... it's not so much the gasket but the way their trims are made & the miniscule windshield differences between the 57 & 58 screen's lower corner radius's ... I'm 99% sure that their trims are better suited for 58 up windshield as there is a very slight difference to the bottom corner radii from a 57 down VS. a '58 up windshield... And with the bottom radius corners being slightly tighter & pointied on the '57 they pull the gasket just enough to where it won't let the gasket relax enough to fully seal those bottom corners.

When I installed min the first time I thought I messed something up so I uninstalled it, tried the backup set of windshield trims and did it again and got the same result in the same corners. So what I did after install was wait a a week to just let the windshield relax & then on a good hot day I cut piece of soft pine just smaller than the radius and then with a rubber mallet on the pine block I was able to finesse both the trim & the gasket seat a little tighter.

While it's still noticeable it's at least sealed as opposed to curling in... Just don't go gonzo when beating on it... I think mine took 3-4 good whacks on the rubber and then 5 or 6 light raps on the trim to make it slightly tighter.

The other possibility is you may have a 1958 windshield...

Place a wooden dowel (paint mixing stick works too) against the rubber seal at the corner. Tap other end of wooden dowel with a rubber mallet. This will force the seal into the windscreen opening.
