I recently replaced the turn signal switch on a 71 bus and now when switching from left to right turn signal, the hi beams continue to switch on. It is too sensitive as it goes between hi and low beam way too easy. Any advice on how to change the sensitivity on a turn signal switch?

Assuming you have the correct switch:

- Make sure the turn lever isn't being held down by contact with the housing, or something like that.

- If that looks OK, then remove the switch from the housing. Inspect the brass strip and hoop at the inside of the switch. Notice that the strip contacts the hoop arm as you lift the turn lever. Bend the hoop arm contact extension to gain a little more clearance from the movable strip, but not so much that they fail to contact when the lever is lifted.

While not labeled, this pic shows the u-shaped hoop arm with the contact extension. The movable brass strip is hidden under it.

I just bypassed my stalk mounted Hi / Low. with a foot actuated one like an earlier split window has.

I always like the foot activated HI / Low beams switches anyways

Brilliant, You were correct. In the replacement part, it looks like the contact points are like BBs.There was no separation. In the original they look like little plates.
I bent the copper contact and put it back together. works great.
I love this forum and the volks that help.
Have a great day. Photos below are after and before.
