Spent many a year wanting a dreaming of owning a Porsche. After many years I was able to purchase one.
I have been a life long ACVW guy, builder and owner of a VW company Called VW LooseNuts. This opportunity to owner this Porsche came along and I sold my last ACVW build to purchase this Porsche project. It was in an accident about 15 years ago and has been stored in dry storage ever since. The motor and transmission as well as the rear section of wiring harness was removed for another 912E car that caught fire which kinda sucked but I didn’t really care lol. Right now it’s at the body shop in Eugene Oregon - BodyWorx getting the tub straightened out. Hoping to get it back on the road next summer.
Here are some pics of where I found it and where it’s currently at.
Purchase some euro headlights
Found a type 4 motor and 901 transmission. Not correct but will work
Had some Weber 44s laying around so going to go that route
Found some real Fuchs also and a rear back glass as mine was broken in the accident
At the body shop- BodyWorx
Got it home and is all tucked away in the garage awaiting some body work
Had it at the shop to get the tub all straightened back out after the accident.
Shop was able to get everything back to within specs.

Spent some time measuring and checking and more measuring. Then checking some more.
Then some cutting.
So far everything lines up nicely.

Lots of pushing around on things today to do the final square up on the roof and rear quarters today. All the metal to complete the shell is here now!! Removed all the porta power stuff set all the panels on one last time. Everything is lined up and gapped good. Just sitting there with assistance anywhere now. Just got to burn everything in. Ready to weld everything up now.

and after all that!!!! Made the decision to go a different way.
I’ve always been a 964 fan and with this being a wreck 912E I decided To do what I actually want.
Bought a set of 964 donor rear sections and going to build the car I always wanted. Need to sell my Fuchs now as that obviously won’t work with the rear fenders. I pick up my complete 964 front and rear and side rockers next weekend.
I also welded the passenger side quarter on!
Probably not gonna make friends doing this. But honestly don’t care. lol 👊🏻 My car my money 😁😁😁 _________________ Jeremy

Stripped the fender. Getting closer to welding them on
Have to wait until the rear bumper shows up to get final placement.
Found a 964 decklid. Just so happens to be black.

Had Paul Iozzio over with a couple wheels to figure out offsets for the custom wheels
This wheel is just temp wheel but the correct size for the fronts
Rear will have bigger tires. Just for mock up
Actual wheel.

The bulk metal work is done. Have a few small bits of areas to finished up and some little dents and dings here and there but for the most part the metal work is complete

And how it sits today waiting on my wheels
Mocked up. Now to build some housings and brackets as nothing is 100% or even 50% secured for that matter. Other then a couple screws and clamps. Still LOTS TO finish to get it permanent.
But dayum I cant stop staring at it !!! ❤️❤️❤️

After MUCH debate with myself I have scrapped the subbie swap for the Porsche. I just couldn’t bring myself to to put this much effort into a Porsche I always wanted not not put a proper 911 motor in it. The 911 motor is partly what attracts me to these cars.
I am picking up this motorSunday. Motor since these pics has been completely disassembled and cleaned. Comes with a couple upgrades like Carrera hydro chain tensioners. Turbo valve covers
Motor is a 2.2 with 40mm zenith carbs.
Heads got a little moisture on them so they will need to be rebuilt. Everything else is good.
