I'm almost there in getting my 1964 Beetle on the road. My issue is with the headlights on the turn signals work only when turning right. Don't work when turning left. Turn headlights off and they work. Car is six volt.

Ideas? Bad relay? Bad grounds and not getting enough power?

Grounds need to be clean of paint/corrosion, then dielectric greased up and tight.

It is likely that one of the left side bulb holders has a poor ground or loose bulb. But if things are OK there, then the turn signal switch internal contacts for the left side could be more worn, oxidized, or dirty. With headlights off, there is a little more power available to overcome slight deficiencies so that the flasher can still work.
