I used to own one of the reproductions.....only a very few were made.

I would personally be very interested in the boat if it's for sale......I also may have a few tips on restoring it as well.

Please pmail me.

Don't ask for a "first born child" for these as it would remove the coolness factor completely! How would the shipping play on the sale of these?

We aren't planning to make BBB, and I don't think the old boat will float without some fiberglass repairs. It needs an old outboard motor too.

I have a late-fifties Firestone outboard (10hp I think) with fuel tank in decent condition. It turns over and supposedly ran when removed. It needs some work on the throttle and a tune up I imagine. Its a cool looking outboard, green in color, and fairly uncommon. Let me know if you would like a pic.

I have a late fifties Johnson in original Green paint/red ID tag with the last two serial #'s being 54. It has compression and is in good shape, you can have it... CB. I'll find some thing that I would like, I'm sure.

Greg-

Congratulations on finally getting your bus boat!!! Glad you got it home OK and I got your message about the clamps...I'll look for them. When all our bus and boat restorations are done we need to have a bus boat regatta.

Seriously, though, that boat is the shit.
Do you have the roof roller hardware for it?

I'm stoked, I've been looking for one of these since the mid-90'ies. I'll probably run the boat on our flipseat when we start using it. The flipseat hasn't been driven for over a year and the '56 Westy was tuned up and ready for the 600-mile roadtrip so it went instead.

Apparently the roof roller hardware is aftermarket. I think the boat was meant to be loaded from the side of the bus which is why the handles are at the ends. It's not heavy and two people can move it with ease.....it's a slight struggle for two people to get it on the roof, but it can be done. This one is missing the oar-locks and the clamps to hold it to the roof but I'm sure they can be fabricated easy enough. The original handles front and rear are still there and in decent shape.
