Does anyone know how to remove the fuel line from the tunnel? Mine has been clogged for decades, It is free from the tank and the engine, but it wont move, does it have any additional anchor points I'm not aware of?

I have an alternate line working, but I want to install one the right way by replacing the old one.

Thanks in advance for your advise

Francisco.

I didn't remove my old/corroded line, but cut it off at both ends of the tunnel, forcing it down into the tunnel and out of the way. Then, I fed new copper coated steel brake line, as a fuel line, through the same entry point from the back. Make sure you tape off the front end of the new line before you do. lots of crap in the tunnel. It's firm enough that you can force it forward and bend it as you go, but you'll need some long, thin pieces of wood to guide it from the front inspection port, around the clutch cable and other crap. Keep pushing it forward until you can grab it through the inspection port, give it a little bend 4" up, push it back into the tunnel and curse a little until you can get it in the tiny hole. It's a satisfying 2 hour job. I did it alone, but it would have been easier with a helper. I took off the bumper, and that might have made it easier.

There are some good posts here on the samba about it, with pictures, if you search. And I'm sure others can relate their experiences.

I believe it has some taps that hold it in place. There was a good thread on replacing the fuel line in the late Beetle forum that I read a few years back.
