Help please. I need to replace my drivers side rear swingaxle bearing on my 66 bug. The bearing I bought from CIP1 has some sort of retaining ring on it (see photo). Will this interfere with the assembly or oil seal?? I don't recall this ring on the current bearing in my car. Does this look like the right part VWC-311-501-283-GR Ger RR S/AXLE BR T1 46-68

The circlip is included with the bearing because that bearing can have other applications needing it. (Not just VW) _________________ '63 Ragtop |

That makes sense, and thank you. When I remove the circ clip I want to be sure the resulting groove does not interfere with the o-ring or oil seal. Hopefully if I put the groove on the inside it will be covered by the bearing recess in the axle. |
