I have put my oil pressure switch in the AN fitting coming out of the filter housing into the case (braided hose). Switch is hooked up and I have run an earth from the filter housing (cleaned up the mount for the filter mount to bare metal) to the same earth point on the body where the battery is earthed. Oil pressure light does not come on at all. Any ideas??

Verify at the bulb holder that you do have ground when the engine is no running and positive when the ignition is turned on, if you have both of those then the bulb is no good.

Ground wire to lamp at pressure switch, turn key on does lamp come on?

No light, check bulb (bulb socket) or wiring.

Yes light, pressure switch bad of no ground on switch.

Ok - I'll chase it down. It's odd as the light worked fine before I shifted the switch to its current position

Check continuity between connection on switch and body/engine. If none either switch is duff or your earth connection. To check switch check continuity between switch connector and body.
