Hi,
Have found this semaphore this weekend, would appreciate any help to know on which Volkswagen it fits.
I use to see ribbed or grooved semaphore for split bug, early oval but I have never seen one like this :
Looks to have the grooved cover section with the correct large rivets but have an other one in the back
Same length as the one I have
It have the ref L143.001 2 followed with the VW stamp
So, don't know very early semaphore detail, maybe is it ?
Maybe something modified and home made ?
Thank for the help 😉
Yan

Yes, likely an SHO Vert sem. Does it have a date code on the back of the body at the top??? _________________ John Henry

Maybe the piece is missing, but as it stands this looks like it was built to go into an external box rather than installed internally to the body. Your silver one has the L-shaped tab on the back that latches into the body. The other doesn't. Likely the other has two holes in the back where a pair of screws went through and into the mounting box. If this all tracks then it appears as though this might have gone on a VW vehicle with externally-mounted semaphores. Maybe a Tempo/Matador truck, or an early utility vehicle like a police vehicle? Nothing conclusive without good shots of the back plate though. |
