I bought one of the DBPOWER units and it came the other day. Charged up fine and seems like a good product from a quick look, but haven't put it to the test yet. HOWEVER, it came with a piece of paper that claimed to be a $10 Amazon gift card, but when I went to the site listed on the paper, I ended up in some sort of scam site. Soonafter, I started receiving fake pop up ads that my McAfee virus protection had expired, etc etc. DO NOT stumble where I have. _________________ 1986 Westy

ICECO 12v refrigerators are on sale, up 10-15% off depending on which model you purchase. Appears to be a one day sale only, for Valentines Day.
Code VD10 for 10% off certain units
Code VD15 for 15% off certain units
https://icecofreezer.com/
No affiliation with the company, but I've heard good things about their fridges. They use the same SECOP/DANFOSS compressors that the more expensive fridges use. _________________ 1982 Westfalia AEB 1.8t

Auto Anything has 21% off for its Memorial Day Sale and ARB products are included in the sale. I have been awaiting a decent sale on the ARB Add-A-Room and pulled the trigger this morning for $295 - $61.95 = $233.05 + shipping using the code REMEMBER.

Half off their 12V fridges.
Decent reviews on Amazon.
$150 to roll the dice is not to big of a gamble. _________________ 1991 tin top GL

Tempted. Have a original fridge that I haven’t installed that in theory works. A freezer would be nice.. |

Nice! Their 54 quart one is also half price ($200 + $10) with code 7DYC.
Ordered one to hold up the edge of the bed.
This is not one of those cheap Peltier coolers; it has a real compressor, and has a separate freezer compartment. |

Let us know how they work.
FYI, no returns/exchanges on sale stuff.
Fwiw, I have one that looks similar in design, handles ETC. (This one has a updated control touchpad)...I found mine woefully under insulated and took a lot of power to keep temperature.
It ended up being free to me after seller did not reply to return requests and Amazon refunded purchase price. It now sits unused. I've been keeping it around thinking may be a good house extra little fridge but I haven't used it. _________________ 83.5 Westy with Subaru 2.5, 4 spd manual, center seat, COLD A/C on 134a!, Winter camp heated with an Espar B4 gasoline furnace

chest fridges work much better if you toss a towel or blanket over them to protect from the heat of summer & sun.
just don't block the cooling vents..
even with the basic covers that's offered there's not alot of insulation going on. _________________

Indeed!
I used to put the sleeping bag over my ARB during the day. I have switched to a wool blanket - stays in place better and seems to work well.
Just got the ARB cover I asked for last Christmas - I don't think it will add much, but it may allow me to add some ground pad foam in addition to/or in place of the Reflectix type "insulation".
It does work for shielding from the sun when in and out of the slider _________________ John - 86 Wolfsburg Westfalia "Weekender"

Just a thought… heat rises; cold sinks.
I always put a closed-cell foam insulating pad underneath my cooler, which seems to keep it cold longer than putting something on top. |

I think thats only true in air or in liquid but not when you have thermal bridging as in your cooler and the floor.
You are for sure getting the benefit of interrupting the thermal contact though |

^^^ Certainly a deal for what you’re getting, but I only know of one place
on the van that I need only one of those bits. What am I forgetting?
