Having difficulty in fitting my locking handle to the decklid. The handle collar does not want to fit all the way into the lid. It appears that there is a piece of reinforcing on the backside that is preventing he collar to seat all the way in. Not sure how it got bent or if even it is bent (see photos). Also which way does the slot in the collar for the locking pin go? It could fit up or down.

That should bend up out of the way, take your time so it does not damage the outer hood.
Either way will work.
