This is a book you don’t see much anymore. It’s hardcover third printing of 1960 and features what they call the new engine, 40 hp. Fundamentals don’t change and neither does extracting performance from the VW, it’s a good read. Thought about posting over at vintage speed but realized more people would see it here. Very Happy

Pretty cool book. I'm familiar with his "Volkswagen Technical Manual", wasn't aware he had other books published as well. Thanks for sharing.

The VW does go, and goes well.

When my grandad bought a Bug he first got to test drive it in Tucson AZ. The dealer let him take it up the dirt road to the top of Mt. Lemmon. That was the selling point, as his big American car could not make it without boiling over or losing traction.

nice. imo that is THE book to have for tuning early motors.
