Hi'

Trying to work out the final bit of electrical wiring on my 49 split standard and having a little trouble. Hoping someone with one of these cars can guide me in the correct wiring in the dash area to get the rear popes nose brake light to work.

There are a number of wires I have to choose from as shown in the picture but not sure which should feed to which. I've gotten a little confused from the wiring diagrams and have hit a dead end.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

*Cheers*

Greetings! I also have an October 1949 car. It's a Swedish deluxe with cable brakes as well.

I've added some pictures of my wiring.

1 goes to 2

4 goes to the same terminal as the red starter button wire on the pod (at 7:00 position as viewed in your picture)

3 should go to a fuse and the other side to of the fuse goes to the key

5 goes to the accessory outlet that appears missing (looks like there is a patch of some sort over the hole?)

Here's the rear fuse box with the cover removed, and the wires up to the brake light if any of that helps.

This is very helpful, great pictorial and simple guidance, really appreciate your help. If I can get the wiring to be half as neat as yours and working I'll be a happy man Smile
Many thanks, you've saved me a lot of time guessing and possibly causing a lot of blown fuses or worse!
Hope to get this sorted soon now.

Leon.

I'm glad it may help!

Here's my car. I'd love to see yours.

PM if you care to share the body number of your car. I'm curious how close together our cars were in the factory.
