Hey everyone,
My son just bought a baja with reduction boxes on a swing axel. We are flat towing it 1800 miles. Not knowing much about the gearing, i think the top speed i can pull it would be 55-65.
Any advice would be helpful. |

Check oil level, lug nuts and axle nuts for obvious. Tires and a spare. Lose stuff, doors latched. Go!

I'm the one you bought it from, I'd check the fluid because it does leak. I know I torqued the axle nuts down to 220lbs but make sure I put a cotter key in the axle nuts. Just before you left I checked the front wheel bearings and made sure the spindle nuts were tight. I flat towed it and had no issues before. So you should be good.

Hey there,
Yep, Competition Engineerng went through it before we left. Fixed the seals on both. No leaks now. Corrected the camber in front. It tows straight, just concerned about how fast we can drive. About halfway through and have a very severe wear on the back 2 tires. Going to rotate front to back, recheck the fluid levels, and look for any other causes in the morning. |
