The first picture is just like the one in our '69. I don't know if it is the "correct" one or not.

Now someone tell me what the hole in the top of the seatback is for.....

I think it's just a cubby.... I don't recall if mine has the lid with the cutout, of if its just a pocket / empty space. I'll pay more attention and take a picture. Mine is filled with 8 track tapes and some coozies from the original owner, and is very similar to the first picture.

The second (lidless) one is 71 (maybe even later 70).

My '71 is identical to the 2nd pic. I use that slot for books - Atlases, Bentley, & Muir books (& an extinguisher!)
