X2 If you are going to the expense of having one built a few hundred more
for shipping should not be a concern. Joe has several threads on builds in the vintage speed forum. His builds are down right beautiful. |

X3 on Joe, while I didn’t have him build an Okrasa for my oval he did rebuild my stock 36hp and I could not be happier. Shipping is super reasonable too. _________________ Rock, stock and 2 smoking tail pipes. |

Joe is definitely one of the best and do not let the prices scare you.
Building a 36HP engine is simply more expensive than building a late model engine due to parts availability and prices.
I enjoyed building my Okrasa/Performance 36HP engine, but it wasn't cheap...I could have easily built a 2 liter late model for less
Okrasa heads alone are $1200 and that's without any clean up.
If you want a period correct Okrasa engine, I'd go to Joe. If you want a 36hp engine with more performance, call Matthew Kenney at Aircooledresearch.com
Unfortunately both are on the western side of the country |

What's about Jeff Price?
Don't have personal experience with him, but he's very helpful and also builds some great engines.
If I remember correctly, he lives in Colorado, closer to the East Coast |
