1600 motor, 1972 Beetle

Bought a 1972 Beetle shell, doesn’t have a motor. Has a transmission


Looking around for one, but want to make sure that a 1960’s 1600 cc engine will fit in.

1970 was the first year of the 1600.

If you want the correct year, you want a dual port engine (AE), not a single port.

It should work , do you know if it's single port or dual port and 12 volt and from a stick shift .
