Reading another topic there was talk that there are an excess of red buggies. Red photographs well so let’s see yours or one you’ve seen, please don’t just grab a bunch from the net. Here’s a few of my buggy “Rose”

Sorry I didn't vote as I cannot agree with either one. Here is my opinion:

No there are not too many red Buggies, the more the merrier!

No all cars should not be red, I like yellow, orange, green and purple too!

Maybe I should start a "Too many Blue buggies?" poll! Wink

Just a little fun with the poll😜 Looking at the "pick my color" poll several comments suggest that red is the most common buggy color and perhaps overused. No comments on overuse of blue, the poll results even suggest that he buys the blue one. I voted for the blue as well. Damn there are too many BLUE buggies we need more polls!!! Annyway I used it as an excuse to post some resent pics I've taken.

One of the latest. I keep threatening to wax it up and take it somewhere more scenic than my driveway for pics.

Ok, ok! I give in! Red has my vote this time. How could I not when in the yard right now is 3 red Jettas, 2 red 944s and a red Forester! Not seen here is the red '04 Jetta wagon and the red '76 Rabbit in the hay shed!

But... the Buggy is YELLOW!

Oh and that old W4 tractor was red at one time too. Does that count?

There are more red cars because they sell more red cars. It is one of the most popular colors for all new cars sold, and has been the last 50 years. It is also a statistical fact that red cars get the most traffic tickets. Ask anybody that works in a body shop painting cars for a living and they will tell you red fades the worst and is the most difficult color to match.

+ 2 on the fading but my experience with difficult color matching is not red so much but white is the a tough one and any light metallic color. Air pressure, the amount the paint is thinned and spray technique all effect the color of metallics. Give two painters the same spray gun with the same paint in it and you will have two different shades.

Metallics can look spot on from looking straight on then move 45* to the car and they change color and don't match. Now clear coat it and the color changes again. Pale gold and tan metallics are the worst!

Now that you have it matching in the paint booth, drive it outside and oops! Changed color again and doesn't match. White can pull that trick too.
