Adding a steering dampener

Has anyone added a steering dampener to a pre 60 car. I’m rebuilding the front end on my 58. I just got my new tie rods and I noticed that the new one has the eyelet for the dampener. I was thinking of adding a little bracket on the beam to hold the dampener. Was hoping maybe someone did it and has some pics

VW made a Technical Bulletin for this which might help but you'll need to fabricate the bracket;
