When I use my turn signal, there’s this “tick tick...tick tick...” and the green light in the dash blinks and the turn signal lights outside blink, so everything is fine. What’s weird is that when I’m driving, without using the turn signal, every several seconds I hear the exact same “tick tick” coming from the same place, but the green light in the dash is off and the turn signal lights are off. It’s just the ticking. What does it mean?

Abandon ship before the bomb detonates.

And then lube the speedo cable.

It’s not the speedo cable; it also does the “tick tick” when I’m stopped with the engine running. It’s the exact same ticking as the blinker, except with several seconds between the “tick tick”

Pull the flasher and see if the ticking stops.

I just had the exact same issue yesterday returning from a long road trip. I kept hearing the signal flasher clicking at random intervals. Some of those times I would also see the gauge illumination lights or signal lights on the speedo flash with it. I decided it could likely be an issue with the hazard switch because so many circuits run through it, but looking through the slots for the vent levers I couldn't see any loose or grounded out wires. I did have the fresh air levers in the down/ open position, so I moved them up just to make sure they weren't touching anything. I also pulled the hazard switch in and out a couple times while I was trying to see what was going on. One of these things fixed the issue, although I'm not sure which one yet. I'll have to get in there and check it out, but at least I was able to get home and not deal with it on the side of the highway.
So as previously mentioned, maybe take a look at or around your hazard switch to see if you have a similar issue going on?
