My '62 has Empi 5 spoke reproductions running 165's currently. I want to put some LT tires on it. How wide can I go in the rear(my lips have been trimmed back (but not cut out) by a PO. I'm thinking of these Nokian LTs in 185 60/15. I know for sure 205's will not fit as I have some here and they rub.
Has anyone used these or know the overall width? What is the standard max width for the early wheel lips with stock small nut reduction boxes? Thanks for any input.

So, just for anyone searching, this combo (abet in 205) will work on the rear of a post '62, but just barely. Stock 15" bus rims. These are unfortunately 70 series and are really fat in the sidewall. @ $50 each I could not pass them up. Luckily they will work. I have yet to try them on the '62. Will update. |

This is the funniest stuff I have read all week. I hope YOUR lips heal. |
