My engine has been leaking oil and now the neighbors are calling the cops trying to get me in trouble for it. So I’m trying to indentify the solution. I’ll order some of those gaskets and hope that helps a bit. It is obviously dripping from the oil sump but also looks like it from the pushrods. PO said he replaced pushrods and no luck. I wasn’t worried about the leak at all until the neighbors are calling the police. The oil spot is in a very weird pattern. This is after sitting for 8 hrs in the working parking lot. Any thoughts?

May be time to ditch the crummy adjustable leaky pushrod tubes and the antique Claude's Buggies deep sump !!! _________________ 1970 VW (owned since 1972) and 1971 VW Convertible (owned since 1976), second owner of each. Your heads, cylinders, and tin are all wet with oil, so it's obviously not just the sump or pushrod tubes. Looks like you have a leak near the top of the engine that is getting spread all over before dripping down -- oil cooler seals perhaps? _________________ 1974 Thing -- under the knife

Could also be when you add oil in the filler that it’s leaking down. |
