I like the color, I like the year, I like the style. It looks pretty solid and fairly complete. You probably know but a heat gun will straighten out all the warped white vinyl trim. This looks like a great project and I have a feeling it will be your main driver once you get it sorted out. Good grab. I would have found it hard to resist. _________________ 71 Westy 1600 DP, all stock Bus 1

Tanks, you wouldn’t believe the price if I told you. It will be my DD cause it’s gonna be my only bus, I gonna sell the ‘68 to fund the project. _________________ __________

You’ll love the power disc brakes. That is once you rebuild/replace everything. _________________ If you haven't bled on them, you haven't worked on them.

Thanks guys! My plan is to redo the whole bus, interior, exterior and all the mechanicals. My current 2175 will be swapped into this bus and I’m gonna have the ‘73 002 im currently running rebuilt and LSD installed in it. _________________ __________

Hi, Rich, Nice! Got to love the way the Colorado High arid climate keeps things. Wood too. I had one of them when I lived in Colorado. Now got a Tin top 71. You will need to figure out how to power the front disc breaks off your engine. _________________ 1960 Beetle And 1679cc DP W-100 & Dual Zeniths! |

Last night I pulled the bus out of the backyard to the driveway. This morning I got up early and pulled the engine, transaxle and axles. Let the project begin!!!
This looks great!
The CV boots are in great shape

Totally a 38 amp generator and the regulator looks great too.
Totally a bug muffler but both sides are broken, not covered over. I’m thinking the whole bus will clean up nice. Even gone run the OG paint... _________________ __________

That score is better than winning the lotto! Well.... almost better.
When you're finished with this, you're going to have a great rig! Can't wait to see the progress. _________________ -Kent-

Started cleaning and vacuuming the interior today. Didn’t have much time on it b/c the rains came but it’s a start. I only found one mouse nest so far and about a dozen small bee hives. Haven’t found too much stuff yet; 2 pairs of plyers, scissors, a MTB tire and tube, some horse stuff, 3 early bay and 1 late bay hubcap, a crazy brake switch attached to the brake pedal, a dog bed, 2 throw pillows.
Love the mask
Before
After
2 speakers in the dash
Crazy brake switch
Hup cap score
Looks like a CB was installed at one point
Rear seat belts!!!!!
Rear window seal
Random shit I pulled out

Pretty sure a DNA test will be required on the front floor mat. The last picture has an item I think I saw in a BSDM catalog once _________________ Lead Mechanic: San Diego Air and Space Museum

The slider and the front doors work great. The pop top is a little rough but I think I’ll be able to fix it up.
Popped the top to inspect the damage
The cot is in great shape
Jump seat looks good
The floors look ok, I’ll get a better idea when I gut The interior
This latch is gonna need some help

I installed new pop top canvas once. Not real easy to do. Here’s a tip. Get yourself a pneumatic staple gun. I tried the hand squeeze type. Then electric. Neither had enough ass to sink staples into the hardwood frame. Costs about $40 _________________ Lead Mechanic: San Diego Air and Space Museum
