Doesn't winter start in September in Inuvik, Canada?

PS, I think you'll make it, I just liked the "That poor van" option. It made me laugh this morning lol

I wish you luck, my friend.

When my buddy and I both graduated from college in '04 we tried to drive my '78 to Alaska.

A Pertronix gone bad side-lined that trip in Three Forks, Montana. It took a couple days to diagnose that was the problem, get the points and condenser reinstalled (I had neglected to save a small screw and clip with the rest of the parts) and also figure out the distributor was installed 180 out! In the time we spent camped out at Lucky Lil's Truck Stop and Casino, we both started worrying about what would happen if we broke down again 100 miles away from anything.

*in retrospect, I've often wondered if the mounting screw for the Pertronix just came loose and it could have been reset. It coughed and hickuped for a long time before finally the engine quit at the truck stop-which isn't their typical mode of dying.

Well, at least you have one thing going for you. Cell service is probably so shitty that you'll give up texting while driving. Actually another good poll to run would be to guess the final count on road kills. Then we could guess on total poundage of road kills. Finally we could take bets on rare, undocumented road kills.

Might be helpful. Though lately I’ve been more inclined to stop and rest and stretch anyways so might not even need it. Had my fun, now I stretch when I can. I’m in no hurry when I’m on a road trip..Wink
