Hi all,

Sorry if this has been addressed before/elsewhere...

My 1979 7-passenger Transporter 2.0L with fuel injection was running great. I had just had it tuned up, with new points and condenser. (New plugs last year.) Running beautifully, idling beautifully. Everything was great for about two weeks, then one day it "hiccupped" a couple of times - i.e. brief hesitation. The following day, it suddenly wouldn't stay running unless I had it revved quite high. I wondered if it was something to do with the heat (it was a very hot day and I had been driving for a while), but I tried it the following morning with the same result.

Any thoughts?

Chris

Start by popping the distributor cap off for a look at the plastic rubbing block on the points.

Make sure you didn’t knock off a hose, or that they all are fully on their respective connections. A large Vacuum leak will do that too.

If it Hiccuped, it probably Burped and as posted blew a hose off. Make sure the hoses are all connected to the Rubber "S" boot.
Good luck
