|

| Who has the best quality spray can touch up paint . I bought some Yukon Yellow a few years back and it worked excellent . Forgot the company . This time I bought Low Voc Waterborne from Touch Up Direct . I can understand the color being off a bit . This paint did not dry . I could not wet and or sand between coats . It would smear . I finally babied this junk to the final stage . Put a tack coat on . Then flooded it for gloss . When it dried , the paint was matte (!!!) . 4 -5 days later it was like putty !!!!! Anyone know a good place . I've painted whole cars the right way so I know how paint should react . |

Your local paint supply can put almost any color into a can. _________________ My cut in half and rebuild thread

Before one of our local O'Reilley parts stores added a paint shop, I used www.paintscratch.com with good results. They matched the Texas Yellow on my '72 SB convertible, and the Alfa Red on my '88 Alfa Romeo Spider. _________________ -Kevin

I've used both www.paintscratch.com and automotive touch up. Paintscratch offers single stage paint as well. _________________ "Men are qualified for civil liberty in exact proportion to their disposition

| I have used this produkt to. With very good resultat. I used a brick instead of my finger to polish away the paint overflow. As the new color is softer than the old one. |

Sorry but I don't use companies that can't get the color for my year correct on their website.
Ruby red? On a 1969 sedan? Don't think so. _________________ I'm the humblest guy on this board.

I’ve ordered L456 Ruby Red from www.paintscratch.com on a couple of occasions and like that they are good with paint matching. However, lately I’ve noticed that the areas I’ve touched up are not keeping their gloss. Instead they have been turning flat after a year or two. Have you had any issues like this?
Bad batch, maybe? Anything I could do besides painting over with a glossy clear coat? My ’66 is not a trailer queen exactly, but a daily that I like to look close to stock from a few feet.
Suggestion? Newer products out there I could try? _________________ 1966 Volkswagen 1300 Sedan, 1641 cm³, 12 volt conversion, L456 Ruby Red, Platinum leatherette. |

That sounds like the spray can clear is failing. Assuming it was a 2-stage paint and not single stage. _________________ "Men are qualified for civil liberty in exact proportion to their disposition

Eastwood.

They sell 2k paint in a spray can.
If you know the color name or paint code they can fix you right up.
I bought some from them and it actually matched my 20 year old paint.
They have a 2k clear in a can too. _________________ Volkswagen!

Try this Turtle Wax product, been using it for years. Try to buff the area back to a gloss before shooting again with a rattle can.

Just be careful with SOME polishes. If they contain a hint of silicone you'll end up with fish-eyes in your paint. I'd polish and then remove any hint of residue with solvents that don't damage the surface. _________________ 1968 1500 RHD Lotus White Beetle since birth. In the hospital for major surgery
