So the other day a nice guy, Tom, stopped by when he saw me outside cleaning my VW Bus. He said he’s driven by for years and wanted to stop because he has a VW Bus that’s been sitting for years at his house and wants to get rid of it. So yesterday my girlfriend and I went to see it and Tom told us we could have it for FREE! He said he wanted to give it to someone that would appreciate it but if we didn’t take it he was going to put a sign out for free anyway. Today we got it home and started cleaning the bus up and sorting out the extra parts. There was even a stowaway snake we found rolled up in some carpet. We have no plans at this point other then cleaning and new tires. Tom is a retired teacher and will definitely stop by to see it again!

A great guy! He’s a retired shop teacher who worked at a school for kids with special needs. |

with those tailights it's a 1972 model year, maybe manufactured date in late august-december 1971 _________________

And the larger squared air intakes. _________________ Everybody born before 1975 has a story, good, bad, or indifferent, about a VW.

also an interesting mix of Jalousie windows..
the DS 2 pane is a Sportsmobile
while the PS 3 pane is likely an original westy window. _________________

If you over tighten the Oil Strainer bolt, you will brake the engine case!
There is a Oil strainer in there.
TORQUE THE STRAINER BOLT TO NO MORE THAN 9 FT. LBS. |

Yes it did! I know I was really happy when I saw it. It’s all a bit stinky but I have been cleaning it down to the bare bones. Mice sure find all the hard to get places. |
