I'm getting a clicking noise on my e-brake handle when I'm coming to a stop. It goes away if I pull up on the handle a little but as soon as I let off of the brakes it starts clicking again then I have to put the handle back down. Any suggestions on what might be happening?

Lug bolts too long & hitting the cable as it is relaxed in the drum. This phenomenon also shows it's colors when someone uses thread in studs that thread a bit too far in.

It can also be caused by a brake drum that is WAAAY warped.

Thank you TDCTDI. But would the lug nuts being too long cause me to feel the clicking on the hand brake?

Also, does EMPI make smaller lug nuts?

Does this also happen with the brake pedal also? This just happened to me and the castle nut was not tight at all on the drivers side. My wheel cylinder was also stuck on one side causing the need for a rebuild. After going through the brakes, no more clicking.

I did check my lug nuts and they are worm at the end of the thread. I'm pretty sure that's the issue. They are too long and are rubbing against the cable. Now I just need to find some from EMPI that are less than 2 inches long.
