Alexander Gromow and 22nd June, World-Wide Day Of VW-Beetle

Although known worldwide, I noticed that a lot of folks from VW community does not know Alexander Gromow and his role in the "VW World Beetle Day" and "Drive your VW to Work Day".
So, as a personal friend of him, I decided to start this thread to talk a little more about him and his accomplishments, in special VW World Beetle Day celebrated every year since 1995 (22nd June).

Alexander Gromow.

Long story, short! (if its possible)

Alexander Gromow, engineer, born in Germany in 1947, but based in Brazil. Former president of the "Fusca Clube do Brasil" and founder of "22nd June, World-Wide Day Of VW-Beetle".

A. Gromow is a great expert on the history of the Beetle and other models equipped with the air-cooled Boxer engine. He is also author of books about Volkswagens (ie. Eu Amo Fusca), as well as author of articles published on club bulletins and in the press internationally.

The World-wide day of the VW Beetle was resulted of an arduous work that took some years and that involved clubs of many parts of the world and was declared in 1995 in BadCamberg along with Heinz Willy Lottermann and Dr. Bernd Wiersch (from Volkswagen).

I already did file it on the World-Wide VW Beetle Day archive.
But I wonder if you could help me to find out yo whom I have to address to refresh the World-Wide VW Beetle Day commemoration in North America, specially toward the VVWCA members.
Yes this commemorative day was lunched 23 years ago in Bad Camberg/Germany, but it is meant to be commemorated each year.

Sorry to hear about that, ZENVWDRIVER, and thanks for your answer.

I'll try to contact the actual VVWCA staff. It may be that one of them was in Bad Camberg 2015 and saw the presentation I made.

By the way, you as an American VW Beetle Lover, can give me a hint on how to approach the American VW Beetle scene to refresh and/or divulge the existence and consequent commemoration of the World Wide VW Beetle Day?
