Hello all,

Anyone has an idea how a barndoor spindle from a bearingtap and bolt spacing differs from the slightly later 55-63 spindle?

currently I have a BD axle with the CSP diskbrake kit (item 499 254 5205), but this brakekit should be transfered to a later spindle.
If the bearingaxle is the same, i guess it will only be a matter of a new bracket.
if bearings etc are different/different spacing i guess it all is a no-go and I need to get a complete new wide5 brake kit?

Thanks!
Peter

Hi Peter,

I have used 55> brake drums and redrilled backing plates on barndoor spindles, so the bearing spacing should be the same, however you will need to make up caliper brackets as the backing plate bolts are a different pattern. Smile

confirmed... spindle bearing axle is the same, only difference in the bolt spacing for teh backingplate. So need a new bracket and i can swap diskbrakes:-)

the plan now is to install the slighly later spindles on the barndoor beam (linkpins are same so should link up) and convert to center steering so the steeringbars are clearing the chassisrails nicely + will work with teh Creative Engineering steering rack.

Thanks!
