Had a great summer with the bus but time to put it away.
Unpacked. Surprising just how much stuff was in there. Going to do some work on it this winter so removed everything including cushions.
Few things I want to get done.
Table
Spice rack. Going to be smaller than originally planned.
Shelves in the rear cabinet.
Joiner strips in ceiling.
Clothes line. Need somewhere to hang wet towels when traveling.
Add 2 deluxe coat hooks.
Sub drawers above fridge.
Covers for the electrical area.
Vent battery charger outside.
Tweak the awning poles and add sides.
Add rigid pickup tube in water tank.
Build side lights and awning lights
Install inverter
Install solar charger
Install disconnect switch on conversation battery
Hookup new fridge temperature sensor
Add basket in top of fridge
Add Bluetooth control
Install gas heater
Build outside table that will store below bench
Think that's about it...

Getting a few camper bits started.
Parts cut for the spice rack out of 3/8" plywood. Decided to make it thinner than most. 3.5" at deepest part. Keeping it 2" above floor for toe room when sitting on bed.
Found a nice latch for the fridge. I will need to fix some screw holes and the catch will be a bit of work to mount. I like the look and I can get rid of the stick of shame.
I need to vent the battery charger through the floor. Too much heat in the summer. Will look around for something to duct the air.

Spice rack fitted. Just clears the fridge. Going to be very useful and quite a bit of storage.
I screwed through the panel from the back. Only a few screws are installed so that will fit better when finished. Would like to have a cover on top but don't know how to hinge it that won't make access difficult. I could have a cover that just sits on.

Have you considered simply starting with a nicer bus? I don't know what your skills are, but the race is easier if you can see the finish line. If you are not a runner, don't start off doing a marathon. |

Stunning work! There is a company called B&M hardware that makes a solid brass chrome plated cupboard turn that might match your fridge latch better then the stamped sheet metal ones. I'm sure there must be a few dealers in Canada. I used to be a historic home hardware salesman. There are none better made in my opinion.

Always enjoy your updates.
And a comment, the spacing between your spice rack and cabinet with the door shut looks Awfully tight. I would suggest that you check that carefully to avoid impact when slamming the door. Of course, we never slam bus doors, right? _________________ Founder and Chairman Emeritus, ECMSAS
