|

I have a 2/59 panel bus that has the lower forward cargo door hinge broken off. It’s broken off at the actual hinge pin, so we can’t weld it back up. I’ll need to take the whole hinge off.
I need a new one, but I am having trouble locating which one is the proper one to order.
There’s a couple in the classifieds here, but I’m not sure if they’ll fit. I’m not super clear on if a later low hinge would work.
This?

Or this?

I also checked Wolfsburg West, but couldn’t find them there either.
Could someone point me in the right direction?
I appreciate the help |

You don't want either of those. You can tell they aren't high hinge because they dont have the round-top rivet like you have now. Those are for a low hinge bus (with roll pins).
You are looking for: 211 841 511 A
You can verify by clicking on the red text of my signature.
Go to section 8 diagram... door wings, see no. 75.
Find used or NOS... won't find it at a regular aftermarket parts house. _________________ aka: Evan

Thanks for the quick reply! I turned signatures off and can’t remember how to get them back. Old man and all that. But atleast I have a number now.
I feel like I’m just going to have to buy the whole door and cut it off. Anywhere else to look? |

Do you only need one half of the hinge? Like body side or the door side? I may have some on some scrap doors I'll look when I go to my storage. It might be a week or 2. |

Ideally both halves if you have them!
I think someone backed out past something and caught the hinge. They then did some crazy welding to the joint that’s mangled both sides. It works... barely.
No rush at all. I have plenty to keep me busy in the meantime. I just need to make sure the door gaps are right/straight before I really pick the floor apart, but that’s more like fall. The cuts don’t have to be pretty, as long as it’s all there.
Thanks again! |
