Google shows that Ernst Kogel was a VW dealer in Boblingen, Germany. What does the M-Code plate show for delivery destination? |

It doesn't have an export code, which apparently means it was German delivered. _________________

If anyone cares anymore after over ten years, Ernst Kögel had an Autohaus in Böblingen (Stuttgarterstr. 9) in the early 1930's, then he took on a contract with VW in '53, I believe. In the 70's, the Autohaus moved within BB to Rudolf-Diesel-Str. 20. His son Hans Kögel later took over and was in charge when VW and Audi firms took it over in 2008-ish. (See this link: https://www.bbheute.de/nachrichten/autohaus-koegel-der-chef-steigt-aus-21-12-2007/). I paraphrased, since I don't feel like translating the bloody thing in its entirety for the one person who might actually give a flying f*#% haha.
I lived in the middle of the two locations about 800m in either direction, so I know exactly where they are/were. The original Autohaus location where that bus might probably have been sold from is long gone and is now stores/apartments that I jogged by weekly. The later location is still there near my old grocery store haha and Zigarettenautomat. Cheers. _________________ ,,Wenige Menschen denken, und doch wollen alle entscheiden.'' -der Alte Fritz

Two. At least two people noticed, at a minimum. And I too wondered if the text refers to automatic cigarette maschine?
BTW good job on the back story. Too bad about the wear on the tag.
I once had a 23 sold new at AMAG (Swiss importer). It had nice aluminum tag, but under lid by engine. Emails to them went unanswered.

yes, those were cigarette vending machines, usually affixed to the outside of a building. anybody with 2 bucks could get whatever their little hearts demanded. _________________ regards

Und ohne passende Münze könnte man ein Viagra versuchen und vielleicht eine Stange kriegen hahaha. Either way, two people now know more about Kögel and cigarette machines.
Don't want to fill this thread with too much off-topic info. Is there a dedicated thread for non-US dealers and dealership info for those whose buses have similar stickers and badges? _________________ ,,Wenige Menschen denken, und doch wollen alle entscheiden.'' -der Alte Fritz
