Can't stand it.

Our '87 Westy is super sweet and has never let me down. But that's because it was pretty solid (although adequately neglected when first found) and we have put a lot of maintenance projects into it over the past three years or so. I have been using it for the past several months as my away from home lodging. Just love it! We've put thousands of miles on it and have made some great roadtrips in it.

But... one of the ATF seals is starting to leak as evidenced by the fluid collecting around the bellhousing. And I feel like there is A LOT of excessive play in the Final Drive. So it's time to be addressed. You either realize and commit to maintenance, or you get stuck somewhere. But dammit! Epic road trip from Central California up the west coast on Hwy 1 and 101 then inland to Mt. Ranier National Park, then onwards to the San Juan islands and Victoria, B.C.

We took the Honda.

Making coffee is now a huge pain in the ass.

Just venting... nothing really useful here. Rolling Eyes

Haven't heard that much venting since the Toutle River got all jammed up.

Wink

Sorry, I hear ya. You could do a Car-B-Q with the Honda, there is that.

Shoot. If we planned it right you could’ve taken one of our Westfalias through the WA leg of the trip. At least you had AC. Been kind of hot up here.
