Forgive my dumbness but being new to the vw scene, where is a good place to get a carb kit for my 74 super beetle? I know they sell them on ebay but I am not sure about the quality. |

What’s your engine set up. You want single or duals? What are you wanting to achieve? What distributor do you have? _________________ Keep on Busin'

For stock. Tim at Volkzbitz
https://www.volkzbitz.com/
Anything else. John at aircooled.net, there are others. But his customer service is top shelf.

Does "carb kit" mean a rebuild for your stock, existing carburetor? Or are you looking for new carburetors? _________________ Brian

I've said it many time before... I don't consider "carb kits" to be "rebuild kits" - as they only have some paper and rubber gaskets and NOTHING to fix the common issue of worn throttle shaft bushings. It is when you re-bush the carb do I really consider it worthy of the title "rebuilt", whereas just cleaning the carb and changing some gaskets is not really in the same league.
(also, another thing I've said in the past, I'm not really impressed with carb kits these days... the cardstock gasket and the needle valve in them are often inferior to the bits already in your carb.) _________________ Andy T.

I do not know how to fix this. All I can say is it all works fine for me with what I use, Firefox. |
