I don’t know where some posters get the high price for showing your vehicle. The folks at the dealership are not going to be driving it around all day, right?
If they rope it off and make an effort to keep the lookyloo’s off it, I’d let them rent it. Maybe twenty bucks a day.

I'm sure if they just want a static display, there would be no problem roping it off, or at least a sign informing the public "Please no touching".
I really doubt the dealership would want to take responsibility of the car if people are climbing on it or getting in/out of the car.
They want to park it up front to draw people in.
It's definitely a cool car, regardless if your a Herbie fan or not |

Definitely have it roped off with "no touching" signs. Also, have pics of the car before in case of damage during the event. Have an agreement that the dealership is responsible for any damage. There are certain people who have no respect for other people's stuff. I had my 78 at a local burger/mini golf joint last year and some of the "locals" decided it would make a neat park bench for selfies. I don't mind the pics, but HANDS OFF! As for what to charge that is up to you. |

Good grief. Rope it off and lock the doors. _________________ “If you care for a thing long enough, it takes on a life of its own, doesn't it? Mending old things, preserving them, looking after them – on some level there's no rational grounds for it.”

This ^^^. Have fun, relax and later you'll have a story to tell. Make a snazzy diaper for that car. Have them agree to detail it for you on the last day so you will not have to see all the prints. Take plenty of before pics for condition and borrow a rental agreement sheet from your nearest rental shop. _________________

I agree with insurance, roping it off and before pictures. As for price, let the dealer through out the first price. Ask them what they are willing to pay. You may find that it is more than you were thinking of. _________________ Every day may not be good, but there is something good in every day,

I know a guy who loaned his Beetle to VW for 6 weeks at $500 a day.
He didn't have to worry about them driving it, the engine didn't run. _________________

So your friend got $21,000 dollars, while loaning his engineless bug to a dealership for 42 days at $500 a day.
Your friend must own a 1943 Bug.

You assume wrong.
The car had an engine, it just didn't run. The car was a 52.
Another friend has a 1960 Karmann Ghia. He loans it to a TV production for $500 a day.
If you've watched "The Man in the High Castle", you may have seen a stock black KG. That's his car.
Once he loaned them his KG, and his early 60s BMW motorcycle. Plus they needed a driver. For one day they paid him $1800. _________________
