According to the wiring diagram the rear window defroster is grounded on the passenger side of the body. On my car there is no wire. I assume that all I have to do is get a piece of wire with a spade connector and ground it to the body somewhere. Can someone confirm this for me? Also, are the rubber boots that cover the wires available? I have searched the usually sources but cant seem to find them. |

Theoretically you are correct but the defroster grids do degrade over time so the likelihood of it actually working once you get the electrics sorted out is still pretty low. _________________ 1965 Volkswagen 1500 Variant S

Agreed. You can test the grid with an Ohm meter . Basically you put the meter leads on each end of each line and check the resistance reading . It needs to be a certain amount for conductivity. You'll have to check what the stats are , but a lot of lines will probably read zero anyway. |
