The door handle seems to be too long? The door skin is a Klassic Fab green panel. the handle is a re-pop WW (the right door went together fine).
Did the panel get made wrong? do I have the wrong year or something? I thought 64-67 were all the same?
My bus is a 65

Does that handle match the holes on your original door? _________________ GFK

Might be easier to shorten and re-chrome that handle it at WW's expense. I have a body panel error from WW and because I didn't keep my receipt they wouldn't honor compensation _________________ American Red Cross Safe And Well:

will your handle seal cover that hole? if so I would carefully drill another hole. |

Man, that's rough. Good luck on the hole drilling. _________________ aka: Evan

Its Klassic Fab sheetmetal. The issue lies in that not the handle itself. _________________ Your Vanagon sucks, Stop waving at me.

I was fairly certain that the panel was wrong but was hoping that I missed something like a one year handle or something. I really hate drilling into a freshly painted bus but that looks like my solution. _________________ 1965 walkthrough Sundial |

Whoops my bad too early in the AM to post LOL. I still think it would be easier to shorten the handle.
What did Klassic Fab say about this?

Id think an experienced body shop could relocate the hole and paint match it.
Bummer though, that's frustrating and not a company known for its customer service. _________________ Your Vanagon sucks, Stop waving at me.

It is not worth my time to deal with Klassic or try and shorten the handle and try and get chrome right. I do have an excellent body guy and still, have fresh paint so I will head down that road. I will need to have a couple small scratches fixed anyway from the assembly process anyway. Disappointed to find this late in the project. _________________ 1965 walkthrough Sundial |

When dealing with aftermarket sheet metal and parts it's always a good idea to test fit everything. I would still let Klassic Fab know about the defect. _________________ Joey

This is encouraging ^^^. I am confident your shop will be able to fix everything needed within the confines of the handle depression(s). Your velvet repair will come out completely undetectable. _________________

Glad your body guy can sort this out but I agree Joey to let KF know as this will not be the first error of a bad production run.
Please keep us posted on the success.
