It's amazing to me that, with the incredible number of current threads dealing with these cars' running problems (just take a gander at the first page alone), and seemingly not much getting solved (such as the case here), some folks still insist these make good daily drivers.
BTW, to the OP here, I still say a stuck exhaust valve. _________________ I'm the humblest guy on this board.

We'll if it's not gone when I get a compression tester I'll test it. I just picked up my 2.2 ecotec I'm gonna test it as well. It lasted 12 minutes on the sand I lost the fuel pump and a needle valve on the right side carb so the bowl wasn't filling. Either way I'm done with the carb and distributor and timing shit. I'll let a computer handle it all lol. Any takers on the motor? |

Good luck on your swap, seems like a popular swap so there should be plenty of info.
Seen your CL add, seen you are running the dial type fuel pressure reg, those are known to be junk even when new.
Looking at your pic it looks like the green wire from your distributor (should be neg on coil) is hooked up with another wire on your coil (white?)..is that positive? |
