Hey all, I have a 69 sc that I have had for over twenty years and I am just now getting around to fixing the gates. The truck came with bolts holding the gates on and I never changed that. What did they come with from the factory, and is there any source for new hardware? Thanks

Hello,
It would be nice if you snapped a picture of what you are actually asking about. It would be easier to get a correct answer. I know my mind reading cap is misplaced at this time.
What I'm saying, is some people may call a screw a bolt and a bolt a screw.. a picture is worth a lot.
Cool, on having a SC. Baywindow and that you've had it in a coma for this long. I hope it survived it's long slumber in good shape. Let's see some pics of your keeper....

sorry about that, I will have to get some pics in the morning. I was guessing that there was maybe a roll pin or some thing that held the gate to the bracket on the side of the truck. I was looking at some pics online and it was still hard to see what was there. I did not mind the bolts in the past because it let me remove the gates when I wanted. now that it will be getting a paint job they might stand out.

I stole this from the gallery;

IIRC these are the same screws you would use for the front door hinges.

I don’t recall what was in there originally but when I restored mine I took the brackets apart to paint them. When I reinstalled them I used roll pins to reconnect them and it worked well.

thanks for that last picture, I was thinking it might be a roll pin.
