Thought about this muffler for my 62’ 40hp beetle, has anyone had one installed on their car?

Worth the money is a relative term.
On a stock 40 hp (Euro 34 hp) I doubt you will notice much difference apart from a throatier sound, and sense that it will extend the powerband everso slightly upwards.

In a word, NO......if you want a stock style muffler, find an NOS German muffler.

Also, that's a 40HP fresh air muffler... is that what you need? 1962 was originally stale air, and the muffler is not the same.
