I found an old Kienzle dashboard clock is it from a VW car, van , ? with a clockwork drive, can you tell me it age and which cars it might have been fitted. ? the windup is on the right side .please

It looks somewhat similar in shape and general design to a Split Bus Deluxe dash clock but of course, the look is totally different.
VW bus clocks are also electric - you do not have to wind them.
I have never seen this clock so I doubt it is from any VW.

many thanks for the reply, yes i did see one in a vw, bus, this is why i was asking, clocks are added to cars etc, the first ones were clockwork, then changed to electric, so i was thinking a early vw car ? 1950s ?, also the bus one i found was curved , could it have been a beetle ? early add on ? |

It's not VW.
I've never seen this clock, ever.
Yes, Bus ones are sort of curved to match the dash.
It would be almost impossible to use that winder in a Bus though.
Yes, it could have been hacked into a Beetle glove box door.

many thanks again, it was a long shot, VW's ... maybe a bracket was added to a shelf on a beetle ?, looks like I never find where it was fitted, I enjoyed reading all the items on kienzle car clocks and have learned a lot. thank you once again. regards |
