Eric and Sandy are very nice people and it's pleasure for us to meet them.. Eric is fighter with high spirit despite the stress of the accident...

now, update on this topic from my side...

Eric's MacBook Pro took a hit, got a dent on the body's backside. The screen is good, memory chips are good, all connections and cables are good, his backup disk (the orange one) is good but not bootable.

unfortunately the internal hard drive was dead. Good grief !! ... it's the only fatality from the crash... Very Happy

I've spent 2 days to reconstruct his internal drive using a new one and it's a success, fully operational with data and applications.

I think Eric will update you guys on his side regarding the van.

I think Eric will update you guys on his side regarding the van.

Wait...you opened up his HDD and did this procedure? Do you have a clean room?

And sorry if I'm being annoying. Clearly you have mad skills. But just want to make sure - you did backup the frankendrive to a new drive? I hope you made the switch to SSD. a SSD would have probably survived.

I opened many HD in an office and read off the data back in the Stiction days. Reliability after opening is poor, so you expect to throw it away afterwards
