Hi folks,

I have a question regarding the rear right wheel area on my 69 std beetle : I'm replacing the rear cross-member, inside fender/wheel well area, and quarter panel, along a new heater channel that's already in place. The body in this area was pretty much all gone, a few rusty sheets and lots of holes, so I don't have much reference... When I try-fit the parts together, it seems there is a few gaps in there/

What does the area look like when all the pieces are fitted together ? Looking from the point of view of the yellow arrow in the pic attached ...

I can't tell exactly what you are referring to.

It looks like you are doing butt and overlap joints with the same panel so it's not going to be flush like the original. I can't tell if it will make a noticeable difference or not though.

I think that quarter panel patch piece has part of the running board mount on it. Are you planning on notching out the running board mount so they don't overlap?

Glad it helps!
BTW . . . FYI . . . your repair panel is a one-size-fits-all kinda deal . . . It has an extra fender bolt hole . . . the bottom hole is for early models (like on my '62) . . . your 1969 lower-most fender bolt (should) go through the second hole from the bottom . . .
