This picture looks like there's buckling in the rear fender from an accident. Could be the reflection but that is a weak spot when they're tapped in the rear.
Bummer there's no interior shots right now. _________________ 1963 Notchback - Ruby Red

I think it's just a reflection
and the wiper, maybe it was just loose from the start? to be honest these things were not inspected like bugs or something. My 63 had to go back to the dealer the day after it was bought to get things fixed and tightened up and even a tail light replaced, I had the paperwork on it...
Whats the thing on the bumper?

Itīs just a chrome extension pointing the tip down.
This cars first owner got ill and the car sat in his garage just being driven once a year to the the yearly inspection. He never got well from his illness but refused to sell the car. It sat in his garage until he passed away. The relatives sold it to the museum in the 90:ies. The car is very nice but would need a full round on the mechanics if the future buyer wants to drive it. |

I guess - from pictures - the whole thing looks a bit low in relation to the bumper. When my car had a stock exhaust it sat much closer to the bumper and exited straight out the back. I realize this tip is pointed down but the pipe itself looks like it's hanging down. Maybe it's just loose.
Thanks for the back story - it's always interesting to hear why a certain car winds up sitting without being driven for so long. |

WOW! That is an incredibly nice list of all kinds of VW's. An SP2!!
There are so many nice ones that I may register to bid.
Any opinions on if any of them will go for a good deal? |

The square sold for nearly $40k. A 63 1500s sold for 18k and a 63 1500 sold for 11k both were not original restorations. _________________ Cheers, David

$37,500 - similar to the amount that the last OG Square sold for about a year ago. While the price seems like it's way too high - it's cheaper than doing a full blown restoration. |

Did anyone else notice the 1963 Notchback went for about $8800 US?
That seems cheap. |

Yep, that is the one.
Even at 11K US it still seems like a good deal. |
