Putting a correct Thing front end in my car, and I’m having a little issue finding appropriate hardware (nuts and bolts, etc). Specifically parts 111-415-747a Lockplate and 211-415-747a Bolt. This bolt and lock plate hold the drop arm to the steering box. Anyone know where to find the lockplate?!? Or a good suggestion for an alternative. I assume the bolt I can find at a good hardware store.

Most VW places carry those (the part numbers may have changed). Saw them on Bugcity as well as CIP1, and I am sure Thingparts.com has them as well

I recently searched for a lock plate with no luck. Then in talking to a well known long time air cooled guy, he just told me to use a standard lockwasher.

As far as the bolt, it is an M12 x 45mm long with a 1.5mm screw pitch. You won't find that in most hardware stores due to the non-standard pitch.

I bought a pack of 10 at McMaster Carr, item number 91180A907.

I still have 9 left if you want one...
