I know that in 1950 there were 89,995 splits built, I wonder how many were standards . Does anyone know.

I have wondered the same Humberto. It would be interesting to understand the percentage manufactured of each model type by year....I'd think that was documented somewhere at some point?

Your 50 Standard is phenomenal...hope to see it in person someday. Once my 51 Standard is done, it'd be great to get them together!

Cheers,
Mike

This is not exactly what you wanted, but nevertheless perhaps interesting:

According to the book "Besser fahren mit dem Volkswagen" from Arthur Westrup, 1954 we have following inforamtion:

Model year 1951/1952: "From 100 Volkswagen, 78 are de luxe and only 22 standards" (it is not mentionied here, if it irefers on a backview from 1951 on the year before, or if it is a backview from 1954 on that modelyear 51/52)

Further, he starts listing the percentage of colours for the model year 51/52: speaking for standard model, "25% of customer are going for middleblue, 75% for pearlgrey". For de luxe, he states: "pastel green 31,4%, azur blue 21,3%, sand colour 17,2%, maroon 16,8% and black 13,3%"

Ulrich von Pidoll tells in his book:

1950:
Standard 25073
Export 53694
Karm./Hebm. 2695/319
Total 81979

I think it's including only German manufactured cars.

best of at least four worlds?

late overrider bumpers, and 60-ish tailights

Looks like 55-61 taillights, and one year only 67 bumpers (note what appears to be an angle on the overrider bars) as well as an oval decklid.
Still less of a mismatch then my 52 is at the moment

Weren't the taillights mounted lower, too? Maybe later fenders, or just drilled for a later year?
