I have J tubes would like to install. I don't want/need a heater. 🙄
My question is what do I do with the rear heat exchangers. Do I leave them in place, plug the holes..........
Any tips would be appreciated.

I知 running J-tubes on a new 1835 I知 almost done building. Being I知 not using the heat Exchangers, my plan is to cut some sheet metal using the mixer box gasket and use them for blanks to plug the access holes.
I came across with using J-tubes. One was the lower tin is fairly open. I remedied that with using thin aluminum pieces I cut into shape to close the opening up. The next was the j-tube position. Being I知 using an aftermarket exhaust, nothing lined up for me very well so I cut the flanges off the J-tubes, re-clocked the tube to the location I needed them to run and extended the tube to fit the exhaust. I知 someone else probably has done it better but this is what I faced and how I overcame it. You can see what I知 talking about halfway down this page https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=...p;start=60
Good luck if you decide to go with the tubes. I知 looking forward to the experience myself.
