I bought Eurovan last year, sunk a bunch of money into it, enjoyed a few nice road trips, and am now feeling guilty about it sitting in the driveway. I would love to get what I put into it back out, but really just need to know what a realistic price for it is.
1993 MV, 5 spd manual transmission, back seats fold down into a bed + it has the table and rear facing seats, but not a pop top or full camper. It had a lot of differed maintenance so I had the following done by a mechanic between January/March:
- new tires and battery
-front breaks pads and disks, back cleaned
- water pump, coolant hoses, thermostat, fittings in cylinder head, timing belt, timing belt tensioner, serpentine belt
-CV boots and joints
-upper and lower ball joints
- shift linkage bushing
-spark plus, caps and roto, and valve cover gasket
- transmission flush
- transmission engine mount
- new heater core, heater hoses
- new ignition switch
- Yakima roof rack
- new basic radio with bluetooth and new speakers
It has been fun and reliable for a couple of trips, no leaks, burns a little oil, and needs the coolant topped off on long trips. It had no problems passing California emissions testing.
The bad:
- Salvage title
- 214K miles
- air conditioner squeals (but heat and air work great)
- peeling window film
- slider door trim is broken so a few of the snaps for the blackout curtains don't work
- stained carpets
- dents and dings on the body, ugly white paint (but no rust)
- cupholders are missing
- full sized spare is old but holds air (not replaced when I did the tires)
- the tem and gas gauge sometimes don't work (usually at higher speeds, they just go to 0)
Any resources for establishing value?
As a side, how many of you have a van that just sits most of the time? |

5k in good shape - probably 3k as described
There is dealer warranted 1993 EV with fewer miles for 6k, loaded, everything working in OR for example _________________ .ssS! |

Thanks, that gives me a bit more to go off of. Locally, all I’ve seen is for MV’s is one in similar exterior condition with a blown head for $1,500, and one is really nice exterior condition and 185 miles for 8k. And of course listing prices don’t necessarily mean selling prices. |

Stpehen Hawkings last notebook revealed the derivation of this:
Actual Value = * f(FLP) * (0.33) * SLP G(exp (time on samba/4 weeks)
where SLP = samba list price
f (FLP) = ( 0.1 if flipper, 0.99 if not)
which translates as 1/3 ask of it sits for more than 4 weeks _________________ .ssS! |
