hi, I bought a cheaper steering box (90 dollars) for my 63. I filled it up with some gear oil and now I notice a puddle under my bugs front end. It seems the steering box is leaking fluid. Does anyone know the cause of this? I did not over fil the steering box. is it becuase this is a cheap steering box?

Please post a link to the steering box you bought.
Does it have a metal plug on top, or two plastic plugs? The latter need grease, not oil, so that might be the cause of your leak. |
